It’s no doubt that living in electronic music hubs like New York City spoils resident dance lovers thanks to jam-packed weekends and showcases full of bass and endless nights. However because of this very fact, it can be quite difficult to put on the kind of party that stands out amongst all the mayhem. Thankfully for New Yorkers, the folks over at Verboten New York have been doing just that. The New York mainstays fired things up this past summer with their Waterfront Dance Series, acquiring space along Brooklyn’s waterfront to put on banging parties with the headlining talents of Guy Gerber, Luciano, Carl Craig, and Maya Jane Coles, just to name a few. Memorable moments included their 4th of July blowout with Sasha and guest-appearances by the likes of Dean Winters (a.k.a. Dennis Duffy of “30 Rock” fame), and the thought of summer’s end left many longing for more of the impressive series.
It looks like Verboten heard the city’s call for more. The group has announced that the party will continue to go strong into the fall, ending (for now at least) in October. Festivities will go down this Saturday September 28th, from 6 PM to 4 AM and the lineup is insane! Cause for genuine concern for instantaneous combustion, the roster is overflowing with the massive talents of Four Tet, James Holden, George Fitzgerald and JDH + Dave P. Tickets are on-sale now and please believe us when we say this: If you’re in New York, you can’t miss this. Both the main events and after parties put on by Verboten have not only been pure, unadulterated fun but also musically expanse thanks to its thoughtful talent bookings. Don’t forget to get your ticket for this ace event, and in the meantime check out Four Tet’s latest single “Parallel Jalebi” and a clip from Sasha’s Never Say Never takeover of Verboten from July!
