Although music festival offerings have risen in the past few years, it is still difficult to find a truly differentiating experience that values creative production outside of a few outliers. One of the lesser known events, which connects music, culture, history, and self-discovery, is Transahara. Started in 2002 by Nomadtribe, it offers attendees a journey in the Sahara Desert (Morocco) - think Burning Man but much more intimate.

The 7th edition of Transahara will take place this April (3rd to 7th), attendance limited to only 1,000 individuals to protect the surroundings. Nomadtribe has created an immersive environment for Transahara, from the music (more than 50 fifty artists ranging from trance, techno, technical, minimal, house, and other), accommodations (camping and food), art displays, and daily excursions. Tickets are available at the door, subject to the 1,000 limit, although it is wise to purchase beforehand considering foreigners would not want to travel to Morocco only to get rejected (current package including ticket, transportation to/from festival, and camping is selling for 340 Euros). Additionally, the creators are treating the exact details of the event - location and meet-up spots - with strict confidentiality. Only individuals who purchase a ticket are provided information.
