The Glitch Mob Remixes Metallica for the 2015 X-Games Anthem

With 110 million albums sold worldwide, 9 Grammy wins and an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009, Metallica is one of the most legendary rock bands of all time. Now, as the X-Games gear up for the 2015 games in Austin, Texas, they have been selected as the musical headliner for the event.

With this massive announcement, they have joined electronic trio The Glitch Mob as performers for the event. In anticipation of the games, which kick off on June 4, The Glitch Mob have released the X-Games anthem — a fiery remix of Metallica's newest song, "Lords of Summer." This reworking brings the kind of loud, energetic electronic fury that fans of The Glitch Mob have come to know and love.

To remix Metallica also came as a great honor for The Glitch Mob. "Metallica is one of the greatest, heaviest, and most significant bands of all time. They defined heavy music as we know it today," said The Glitch Mob. "We listened to their catalog religiously. And Justice For All is one of the greatest albums ever — it has an immersive narrative, deep emotion, and gnarly power.
