The popular digital music service, Spotify is expanding their features and jumping on board with the EDM phenomenon.

Starting next week, Spotify will launch the gapless playback and crossfade features as its latest desktop upgrade. This will allow listens to stream music to play from one to the next without the silent spaces in between.

Other impressive features is crossfading, which is a DJ mixing function that allows one song to fade out while another one is brought in. Users can choose the exact number of seconds – from 1 to 12.

One notable user in the EDM space, DJ Paul Oakenfold, says he uses the music service daily. "Many of my own releases are mixed so I'm delighted to hear Spotify will now offer gapless playback and crossfade so my fans can experience the mixes on Spotify in the way they normally do in the clubs," said Oakenfold.

Spotify is available in 12 countries and has over 10 million active users, and more than 2.5 million paying subscribers. Another new feature, they've added a notification for  users of the new update. Those of you who can't wait can go here to download the new updates.
