Back when Ultra Music Festival released their extensive list of prohibited items for this year's festival, it was revealed that selfie sticks would not be allowed into the event. Now, two of the country's biggest festivals are getting behind this anti-selfie stick movement. Both Coachella and Lollapalooza have announced that they will not be allow inside their festivals.

The “FAQs” page on Lollapalooza’s official website includes “GoPro attachments like sticks, selfie sticks & monopods” in its list of items that are not allowed at the festival. Coachella states on their “Rules & Policies” page: “NO Selfie sticks / Narsisstics.” This is obviously bad news for festival goers who want the standard main stage selfie… looks like you’ll have to resort to asking someone to take the picture for you like the olden days.

These announcements come just two months after the selfie sticks were banned from U.K. venues including O2 Academy Brixton, O2 Arena and SSE Wembley Arena due to the sticks obstructing fans' views, as well as some safety concerns. Whether or not more festivals and venues will begin to ban them as well remains to be seen.
