DJ Riz: Will.I.Am

If you could have any animal as a pet?

DJ Riz: A sheep so I could just turn him over and sleep.

If you could have one superpower what would it be?

Chris Moody: Flying, for sure! I’m a big Superman fan.
DJ Riz: To zap away the person you don’t want to see on this earth!

What song do you sing in the shower?

DJ Riz: I don’t really listen to music in the shower so I’ll just say Penelope Cruz.
Chris Moody: I’ve been signing “Clarity” recently.

What can you guys not leave home without?

Both: iPhone!

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life:

Both: Chicken!

What’s your computer wallpaper?

DJ Riz: I got some boring ass, tranquil boardwalk with water.

What’s the best you’ve ever gotten and from who?

DJ Riz: Once you’re focused on something don’t let anybody tell you you can’t do it and just go with your gut.
Chris Moody: My mother always said judge people from the inside, not the outside

Have you ever been arrested and what for?

DJ Riz: I was like 15 years old and one of my friends worked at Toys R Us and we had a racket going where we would come in to him, who was working at the electronic department, with a stack of stuff and bypass the counter to pay with carriage full of stuff. One day we got too greedy and they got us.
Chris Moody: I got arrested at 5:30 in the morning. I had just DJed Scored when they had Turntables Tuesdays. I decided to get cereal down the block, a block away from my house. I got pulled over for tinted windows, was fighting the ticket, and apparently my license was suspended so I did 24 hours.

Craziest performance experience:

Chris Moody: I was DJing at CPI in the Hamptons and my speakers got on fire. One speaker started burning and then some guy threw it out. Next thing you know, the other speaker started burning up and somehow my sneakers ended getting on fire.
DJ Riz: When I was playing the turntables on the radio on day, the needle got a little dusty. It was about to start jumping so like an idiot I blew on it and the needle skipped threw the whole record.

If you had one night left to live, what would you do?

Chris Moody: That’s easy, I’d stay with my son.
DJ Riz: I’d probably post a stupid Instagram or get in some trouble.

What’s your favorite festival?

Chris Moody: It was EDC NY.
DJ Riz: Yeah, we were really happy to be there. You hear it about it all the time and to be actually be there was great.

What’s next for you guys?

Chris Moody: Music, music, and music.
DJ Riz: Yeah, and touring. We’re thinking of new, weird collaborations. We’re trying to do it with a sort of hip-hop edge with people like DJ Premier.
