Quickie with a DJ: Northend

If you could have one superhero power, what would it be? To fly. That would make getting places a lot more fun.

First job you ever had? I think one of the first jobs I ever had was as a pool attendant at a hotel in Toronto. I'm still not sure what that job was about but I basically walked around handing people towels as they left the pool.

Favorite candy / snack? Recently I've been eating a lot of Twizzlers in the studio...too much actually so I guess that would be my favourite right now.

What do you drive? A dog sled...I also drive a lot of people crazy by constantly playing music.

Kind of watch do you wear? I have a sundial. Actually though I don't wear a watch. I do wan't to buy one at some point but for now my phone does the trick.

Favorite Sneakers? I don't necessarily have a favourite sneaker but if I had to chose a brand I guess I would say Supra.

Favorite fashion brand? I'm not very particular about fashion brands actually. I can say that I do get a lot of my shopping done at Zara though. Is that lame?

If you had one night left to live, how would you spend it? I would probably crash the Swedish House Mafia show wherever it was and play a sold out stadium for the first time until I got kicked off stage.

Favorite video game? I used to be insanely into video games before I found music. I'm not so into them now but back then my favourite game was Dynasty Warriors. Any one of them from about 3-7...they were all pretty much the same.

Can't leave home without? Headphones...ever.

First DJ you ever saw live? I think it was Tiesto at the Ricoh Coliseum in the summer of 2008. That was the first time I went to an actual dance music show. It was a life changing event for sure.

How would you describe your style? I would say my style is uplifting progressive house. Generally my songs have a very optimistic vibe to them. I do change it up from time to time but I think optimistic would be the word of choice for me.

What are your thoughts on the dance music culture right now? I think dance music culture is amazing right now. Commercially it's really breaking through and there is also a healthy underground scene too. Everything is looking good!

Favorite track to play? I love playing any of my own songs but if it couldn't be one of mine I would have to say Don't You Worry Child by the Swedish House Mafia. Everyone knows the words and the reaction is always amazing.

What DJ do you want to:

Hug? I would probably hug Tiesto. I still haven't met him yet so I feel like that would be a natural reaction for me. I've been a huge fan of his for a while now.
Party With? Judging off his twitter feed, Diplo seems like a fun guy to party with.
DJ alongside live? Tiesto. That would be a dream come true.
