Calling all gamers! These are the headphones for you. I had the privilege to test out the brand new Playstation Pulse Elite Edition headphones and to say that they lived up to the hype would be an understatement. I first tested out the headphones playing the brand new Sound Shapes game, which just so happens to have a deadmau5 level titled D-Cade. I cranked up the BassImpact (more on that later!) and got to playing. The Pulse's BassImpact technology is one of the most compelling features of the headphones; it translates bass sounds into "pulses" around the earpads of the headset. It delivers an unprecedented level of immersion, while sharpening your perception while gaming or listening to music on your mobile devices. From every jump to every sound shape I earned to each fail, the sounds were invigorating. My ears were rumbling and it was an engrossing experience rather than just sounds accompanying the visuals. I also played Uncharted Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush, and Unit 13 to get a wide variety of sounds and the headphones stood up.

After I was done playing, I noticed that not only is this headset for the Playstation 3 & Vita, but works with mobile devices as well. I then preceded to crank up some Krewella, SikDuo, R3hab, Topher Jones, Ken Loi, and Dada Life to test a wide variety of music; with the BassImpact tech, the sound was mind rattling. I would highly suggest PS gamers purchase these headphones. Great quality for an affordable price of $149.99.
