Pioneer is launching their latest product, sure to join your favorite DJ’s arsenal of performance tools, the XDJ-R1. Its major selling feature is its wireless control allowing for control of your mixing devices via an iPad, iPhone, or iPod thanks to Pioneer’s “remotebox” app, even when there is no Wi-Fi available (available on the Apple App Store as of May 30th). System functions like volume control, song selection, mixing, and looping can be accessed directly on your mobile interface, allowing you to move freely around the room without ever leaving sight of your set and its progression. Other features include beat syncing, playback, sampling, eight effects and automatic effect synchronization. The XDJ-R1 also supports a long range of audio formats as well as MIDI support for added convenience. Pioneer’s latest is slated for a June release for a suggested retail price of $1,099. Purchase of the hardware will also include a copy of the Virtual DJ Limited Edition DJ Software at no additional cost.
