Noel Lee, the head of Monster, said, "We're excited about what we have accomplished with next generation sound with Monster DNA. It's the evolution of what a headphone can look and sound like. Sonically, they completely kick ass yet still have refined sound qualities that all music lovers can appreciate."

The quote from Noel Lee above is the first thing I saw before cracking open the box to test out the new Monster DNA headphones. High praise from the head of monster and after testing these headphones out over the weekend, I have to say, they do kick ass. When I first opened the box, I was instantly impressed with how they looked. After I got past the visual appeal, I got right into what music lovers care about: the sound.

I spent countless hours over the weekend listening to David Guetta's Electric Zoo set, Chuckie tracks, Swedish House Mafia, Datsik, R3hab, deadmau5, Flosstradamus, Disclosure and many more to test to wide range of sounds and DNA held up. The bass pumps, you can hear the individual instruments within the songs, and best of all, the headphones are comfortable on your ear. This is very important because if you like to listen to music in the office or at home for long period of time, comfort is key. Another really cool aspect of this headphone is ControlTalk. It is an in-line mic that controls your iPod, iPhone and iPad.

All in all these headphones are a great choice and I would recommend them. The on-ear models come in black, white, cobalt blue and teal, are $199.95. The earbuds, which are offered in black and white, cost $99.95.
