London-based DJ and producer Maya Jane Coles may be one of the youngest and most talented ladies to hold dominion over the realms of tech and deep house. Her latest EP release, Easier To Hide, marks the kick-off of her brand new I Am Me Recordings label with four spellbinding tracks that carry about as much groove as we could handle on a single compilation. The title track, "Easier To Hide," is a bouncing uber-chill tune with hypnotic vocals and an almost sinister vibe. Gorgeous acoustic guitars play up longing melodies in "Over" before "Run With The Wild" carries us onto a darker path into Cole's musical wilderness with its thrumming and almost carnal basslines. The EP wraps up with the hazy and dreamlike "Back To Square One." All in all, the collection of tunes is savage sensuality meets cool mellow introspection, like the queen Maya herself.
