After undergoing a monumental renovation, the highly anticipated Marquee NY is opening its doors to the public on Friday, January 18, 2013. The world-famous nightclub is joining dance music venues around the world in opening up its dance floor to emphasize the main event: the DJ.

Owners Jason Strauss and Noah Tepperberg have transformed the nightclub into an EDM super venue; sporting a Funktion One sound system unparalleled in New York City, mixing the fans with the VIP, and helping to define trends in the dance music community by booking a notable array of talent in all genres from progressive/electro to deep house and techno.

Marquee’s opening night will feature Dubfire, one half of the brilliant Grammy-award nominated duo Deep Dish. A techno legend being booked for the opening night at a renowned club such as Marquee could signify a trend in the dance music industry; demand by the masses for an alternative style of dance music. Concurrent with this theme, Friday nights at Marquee will be hosted by BasicNYC (Sleepy&Boo), legends in the EDM underground community.

Great expectations sit on Marquee NY’s debut; Marquee Vegas was the highest grossing venue in the world in 2011. Judging by the amount of tweets and posts from Wednesday’s soft opening, the nightclub looks ready to accommodate the already-buzzing crowd of soon-to-be Marquee regulars.
