Electronic dance music has spawned some pretty outrageous dance crazes over the years, from the Melbourne Shuffle to C-Walking, but now it has been taken to a whole new level.

TapTronic, a dance troupe described as a “progressive fusion of Irish dance and electronic music,” premiered its first video on YouTube (see above) and has set the course for a nouveau style of dubstep dancing.

Drawing from old-style Irish step dancing, TapTronic adds extra steps to the traditional movements in order to mimic the percussions used in dubstep. In their first video “Crave You,” the group remixes an Adventure Club dubstep remix of the Flight Facilities hit.

A far cry from Michael Flatley’s “Lord of the Dance” (whom TapTronic members Zach Klingenberg and Ciaran Plummer once toured with), this new project definitely has potential to become the next dance rage, but you better start practicing your footwork now if you want to keep up with these guys.
