Kavinsky Feat. The Weeknd “Odd Look”

French producer Kavinsky has enlisted the help of superstar R&B sensation The Weeknd for his latest single, a remix of “Odd Look." The combination of Kavinsky’s musical-score-esque production style, and The Weeknd’s enchanting vocals and original lyrics, makes for a track that transcends genres, styles and labels to stand alone simply as an incredible piece of music. It seems The Weeknd (born Abel Tesfaye) plays the role of a drug dealer in the track, as he calls into question the “good girl” façade of the women buying from him. The dark story paired with Kavinsky’s flare for the 80’s-oozing dramatic create a musical experience of cinematic proportions for the listener, further proving the well of talent the French producer refuses to shut off much to our satisfaction.
