Continuing his fast rise to dominance of underground tech-house, 21-year-old Justin Jay is set to release a new EP that broadens the diverse nature of his catalogue to date. With breakout tracks like "Le Voyou" and "Static" released on the Dirtybird label, he has shared a more bass heavy style of production that helped create quite a buzz surrounding the up and coming talent. We were then introduced to a different tone of his sound with "The Jaguar" on Culprit Records that enveloped a spacey approach with synth textures and smooth melodies. One thing has always been present in Justin Jay’s music, a focus on a driving rhythm that is both deep and soulful. Now he makes his mark on Pet’s Recordings, the label headed by fellow Dirtybird affiliates Catz N’ Dogz, and shares a new chapter in the Justin Jay saga.

The Momentum EP consists of three tracks that possess their own unique essence which they bring to the release. "How I Knew" takes a classic vocal sample and gives it new life with gritty synth textures coupled with a subtle lightness that reveals a brilliantly cohesive dance number. "Momentum," a collaboration with another Dirtybird affiliate in Kill Frenzy, is straight up techno, no gimmicks, just hypnotic rhythms for those late night/early morning rave sets. Rounding out the EP is "You Give Me Butterflies," a delicate and progressive tech-house jam that reveals the playful nature of Justin Jay’s music. His production style seems to be evolving with each new release, revealing a new aspect to his musical personality. Justin Jay’s Momentum EP is available for purchase at Beatport.
