The versatility of music in general has always been evident with the broad spectrum of genres that resonate with a variety of individual tastes from around the world. More artists are finding ways to blend and fuse genres into futuristic productions that defy classification. One group of artists who have been experimenting with sound for over two decades is the Norwegian octet Jaga Jazzist. Led by sibling trio Lars, Martin and Line Horntveth, the band has built a reputation for experimenting with jazz oriented rhythms, revealing a unique and original production that breaks down the boarders of designation. The group recently shared "Starfire," the first single off their upcoming album of the same name, that takes the Jaga Jazzist sound to a more futuristic and electronic area that can get fans excited for what’s to come.

In congruence with the album announcement the group have also shared a special remix from their fellow Norwegian countryman Todd Terje who takes on "Oban," another track from the new album, and mixes in his disco/funk style. Transforming the original production into a dance ready heater, Terje’s unmistakable style has helped him reach critical acclaim in recent years and it’s apparent that he has some musical versatility with this, nearly 10 minute, journey of a remix. Be sure to grab "Starfire" upon it’s release on June 1 and catch Jaga Jazzist on their North American tour in June.
