The latest versions of the iPhone and iPad, which feature a smaller Lightning connector, are frustratingly incompatible with previous speaker docks consumers may have purchased with prior models. While it doesn’t offer complete relief (since the consumer has to pay extra), JBL has launched a series of Lightning-enables speaker docks. There are two versions, the OnBeat Micro ($100) and OnBeat Venue LT ($200). The latter is obviously the larger and full-featured version, coming with Bluetooth compatibility (up to 8 devices), two tweeters, and video out for the TV. The smaller onBeat Micro arrives with two full-range transducers and weighs less than a pound.
