Hot Since 82 makes our wish come true

Need a sleeper hit for your peak hour sets or mindlessly shuffle away to this week? Hot Since 82 is to the rescue with a perfect dance floor creeper. The Yorkshire-born producer and DJ took 2013’s “Wishing Well” by iconic artist David Lynch to the studio and emerged with one hell of a stunner. Premiered on Mixmag, the remix is equal parts slinky, equal parts mystery. It’s ominous buildup gives way for an incredibly euphoric ambiance, transforming the original from synth-heavy retro to hypnotic dark room in the best way possible. Available for purchase here, the rework makes for a perfect addition on David Lynch’s super deluxe reissue of his “The Big Dream” LP via Sunday Sunday Best.
After catching up with the busy man earlier last month we know Daley Padley’s persona has had one hell of year, tearing up the summer season with his inescapable “Bigger Than Prince” remix, releasing his debut album compilation, “Little Black Book” and even commencing a proper American takeover with an explosive North American tour. This latest re-edit seems like even more of a gift given the truckloads of music Hot Since 82 has sent our way and another fine reason to maintain one ear perpetually locked on the man’s work.
