Detroit native DJ-producer GRiZ is well known for several things — his future funk sounds, his skills on the sax and his love for the ganja. In Colorado (where many people now share that love), you can find him gracing the April cover of The Rooster; a Boulder-based marijuana enthusiast-friendly magazine, which you can see above. Obviously, the cover story in the issue explores more than just his new album, Say It Loud, and the exciting news of his headlining gig at the famous Red Rocks Amphitheater. It also dives into his new creation.

This 4/20 marks a special one for Grant Kwiecinski (aka GRiZ), as Colorado fans can now celebrate the holiday by blazing up a strain that he created. The strain is appropriately titled 'GRiZ Kush,' and it is available at all of Colorado's Native Roots dispensaries. On his Facebook, GRiZ explains the strain's genetics, which are "Tangerine Haze x Pakistan Chitral Kush cross. A sativa dominant hybrid." Translation: it's very powerful stuff.

The Native Roots dispensaries are also running a special deal on the strain for the day. Check out GRiZ's Facebook post below, which explains the special offer.

I can't believe I actually created my own strain of weed. It's called GRiZ Kush and is a very real thing, and really...
