Girl Talk previews two new mashups during live performance at AWOL Musical in North Carolina

While laying down his set at AWOL Musical in Charlotte, North Carolina two weekends ago, mashup mastermind Girl Talk gave the crowd two stellar bits of new music that has us going wild. The Pittsburgh native always warps genres into his own wonderful concoctions, mixing unthinkable artists and sounds together to create something entirely new and exciting. For the first new mashup, Girl Talk took the beat of Kanye West’s “Black Skinhead” and layered it with the haunting lyrics to Marylin Manson’s classic “Beautiful People”. The results as scary as they are dope as Kanye’s tribal rhythms lend themselves perfectly to Manson’s evocative lyrics. But the magic doesn’t stop there. Michael Jackson’s 1992 hit “Remember the Time” takes a trip to 2013 as Girl Talk layers the King of Pop’s lyrics over Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” for an incredibly pop-friendly groove.
