Here’s one for the bbq-fanatics and tanners who need the music going while you’re outdoors. Eton’s Rukus Solar is a speaker system that streams music via Bluetooth or cable, and as the name implies, keeps the speaker’s battery charged via a solar array to an extent. The external of the system is built for the outdoors - strategic rubbers are placed to prevent brushing against surfaces and a hard plastic coats the exterior. There is, however, a very odd built-in cell phone holder which is located at the bottom of the gadget. Perhaps a dry spot for your cell phone or an anti-theft device?

The quality of the audio isn’t the best, but is appropriate at the price point of $150. It’s tough to find portable external speakers without a large investment. While the Rukus Solar isn’t sufficient for a huge party, it’s perfect for lounging around with a handful of friends.
