Life is good for Australian house duo Feenixpawl. In the last year, Aden Forte and Josh Soon have garnered support from the likes of Swedish House Mafia and Kaskade, released a Number 1 single on Beatport, and produced remixes for some of the world’s biggest dance labels.

The duo recently sat down for an interview with Elektro, revealing their early days at a club Soon owned in Melbourne. “I was desperate to get a gig there,” Forte says, “and Josh was nice enough to chuck me on the in backroom.”

From playing the backroom to performing at gigs around the world, the duo says their method has remained the same. “There isn’t a formula we have to making music,” Soon says. “We sometimes just throw around ideas until we hear that special something… No matter what we try and make, nine times out of ten it will become an uplifting, big-room record before we even realize it.”

Check out the complete interview in the next issue of Elektro, hitting newsstands this June.
