Since blowing up the blogosphere back in 2011 with their debut EP, “Lights Off”, indie dance group Tokyo Denmark Sweden has kept the hits coming, expanding their catalogue of atmospheric and synth-lined indie pop with consistency and growth. The Australian trio has just released another impressive EP package for their single “Turning Time”. The track oozes the band’s signature laidback sound and groove thanks to its soaring yet soft vocals and its subtle crescendo of musical layering. Synthed-out guitar riffs and steady drums add to the song’s overwhelming envelopment, momentarily paused after a fantastical drop just before the two-and-a-half minute mark for good measure. The track is a laidback hit, only made better by three funky remixes to round out this solid EP package. Mike Metro and Benson work up a techno remix and Riffie opts for a more 90s garage all while Kris Sach conjures up a deeper rework with tribal and jungle drums to boot. Tokyo Denmark Sweden have hit the spot with this “Turning Time” EP and compiled a 20-minute package that’s a complete pleasure to listen through. The EP drops January 7th, but you can check it out here below!
