So can you tell us a little bit about the project and release?

Tommy: The (RED) charity creates funding for medication to help the fight with AIDS. (RED)’s mission is tohave an AIDS-free generation., and this medication that they’re providing is having a huge implication on getting it achieved. There were about 900 births with AIDS per day last year, and its down to 700 already, so there’s been a massive jump already in one year.

The last (RED) album featured artists like Tiesto and Skrillex. Can you tell us who will be featured on this one?

Tommy: This year, there will be Calvin Harris, Tiesto, Martin Solveig, myself, Swedish House Mafia, Coldplay, Empire of the Sun, and I think Robin Thicke is even making an appearance. Pretty sweet tracklist, I think.

Can you tell us about your track on the album?

Tommy: I’ve done a remix for Empire of the Sun, and it’s a single that’s coming out in December, titled “Celebrate.” They asked me to do a remix ages ago, and this was the one I was most connected to. I’m pretty lucky to get to choose from the whole album. I think the whole vibe and sentiment of the song fits well with the whole (RED) thing, so it fits like a glove.

To coincide with the album’s release, will there be any kind of events that will further benefit the charity?

Tommy: Yes, there will be a live stream from Stereosonic Festival this year in Sydney, Australia, on November 30th and December 1st. They will be showing guys like Calvin, Zedd, and a few others from the main stage, probably Empire of the Sun as well. Then aside from that, there will be a bunch of clubs around the world that will be “turning (RED)” for the charity that week.

This is great, we here at elektro are really big fans of what you guys are doing with the (RED) charity. It’s great to see everyone come together for a good cause like this.

Tommy: Absolutely, I’m just happy that a lot of the big name artists are really enthusiastic about being a part of it, and bringing more awareness to what’s going on, because its great to think about the possibility of one day stamping it out. Every bit counts, so I’m happy to be a part of it, and I know all of the artists are stoked as well.

Aside from your work with the charity, are there any other new projects that you can tell us about?

Tommy: Aside from my project with (RED), I’m working on some new originals, doing an Indian Tour, coming back for Stereosonic Festival, Japan in early January, and then a lot of touring in the US as well. A lot of time on planes.
