Your latest album mix ‘Around the World’ has a deeper, progressive house sound than prior releases, in addition to mixing in other genres. From a production standpoint, should fans expect your style to continue in this direction?

I have signed some cool tunes on my label 925 Music recently, a combination of deeper club tracks, but also some melodic vocal records, which might even have some commercial twist too. I am currently busy with some ideas for new tracks but they will be filled with energy; definitely more energy than before. I love playing deep but I want to expand my sound a little too.

You have been juggling multiple careers for awhile now – modelling, producing, dj-ing, managing your own label – on top of the new album and worldwide tour. How do you keep up with such a hectic schedule?

It’s about having good management behind you. In my case, I have Around Nine Management which handles my world wide diary and many other areas of my career but what is good is I can rely on them 100%. At times it gets very difficult juggling everything, for example I just came back from a 35 day tour in Asia. I did 9 countries in this tour so I am a bit tired now but work goes on. Having the management team around me makes this more possible. And of course so does living healthy, drinking hardly and do sports to keep myself as fit as possible.

Modeling and music production are fairly differing activities. What aspects of the two do you enjoy most?

With my music I love testing new tracks out to an audience, seeing the reaction and building a set from that – the feeling is something special. In a different way, when I do a shoot which will be placed in a good magazine, you are looking forward to receive the first copy to see how the end result turned out.

It is such a privilege to do two careers which feel like a hobby.

When you do have some free time, are there any hobbies you pursue? We understand you’re quite active in the philanthropic scene via PLAN. What is PLAN and how did you get started?

Plan is a children rights organization that specializes in helping girls in developing countries. I am very proud to be an ambassador for this charity because it is something I fully support and belief in. Right now I am sponsoring some children in Haiti, Bolivia and India but I hope to do more going forward.

There are a handful of female producers in addition to yourself who are emerging in electronic music. What are your thoughts on the current state of a male-dominated industry and what advice would you give to up-and-coming females?

Yes, the electronic scene is still very much a male dominated world but there are more and more female djs/producer shining through. Mostly notably right now has to be Maya Jane Coles, she is doing incredible work both as a producer and DJ. The last couple of years has seen more female DJs shine in the scene and this is something I’m incredibly proud to see. I recently was invited to become a judge on a show called ‘She can DJ’. It’s a campaign in search of female talents in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The response so far has been amazing!

Lastly, what are your plans for the rest of 2012? What should we expect from your US tour?

My schedule this summer is really busy with lots of touring; I’m also trying to complete some of these track ideas to get a couple of releases out before the end of the summer. I also have some fresh new music signed to my 925 Music label. In amongst all of this I look forward to spending some much craved time with my family and friends too.
