The King King: LA-based creative collective The DoLab, (the group responsible for Southern California’s annual, and epic, Lightning in a Bottle Festival, among other things), has recently taken up residence in the King King’s industrialized club space with Woogie Nights. This monthly dance party, (named after one of the states at LiB), has hosted Jay Tripwire, Pumpkin, Wobs, Android Cartel, Christian Martin and a side project from Eskmo called Welder.

Dim Mak Studios: When Steve Aoki’s regular party plac,e Cinespace closed its doors this past February, Aoki simply became an equity partner in the space and renamed it Dim Mak Studios. The killer roster of upcoming guests at Dim Mak’s Tuesday night showcase includes Holy Ghost, Penguin Prison, Peace Treaty and Nadastrom.

Low End Theory: Low End is a legend, and even after ten years, is still considered the cutting edge tastemaker of LA electronica. Created by Alpha Pup label head Daddy Kev, Low End Theory’s  resident lineup currently includes Nobody, D-Styles and the always compelling Gaslamp Killer. This 18+ Wednesday night event has launched EDM all-stars including The Glitch Mob, Daedelus, Nosaj Thing and Flying Lotus, and even Radiohead’s Thom Yorke has shown up to man Low End’s decks.

Control at Avalon: This weekly Hollywood club night has become one of LA’s biggest EDM events by consistently booking top tier talent including Carl Cox, Diplo, Peace Treaty, Simian Mobile Disco, Etienne de Crecy, Nero, Boy-8-Bit, Sinden and Crookers. Dillon Francis called it the epicenter of electronic music in Los Angeles, and the dressed to impress crowds who fill the place every Friday night seem to agree. Control celebrates its third anniversary this December.

The Hollywood Palladium: When EDM’s heavy hitters roll through LA LA Land, they play the historic Hollywood Palladium. This 1940-built, 4,000 person capacity venue in the heart of Hollywood has recently hosted Pretty Lights, Pete Tong, Booka Shade, Steve Aoki and The Crystal Method, (as part as the IDentity Festival), and Deadmau5’ already legendary --and completely sold out -- four-night run in August. Sebastiean Ingrosso plays the Palladium December 10.
