This week, we brought you the fantastic remix of Miike Snow's "Pretender" by Dutch DJ/producer duo Dem Slackers. Now, the group has returned with a preview of the newest EP, "Gold". The EP contains two brand new tracks, including release's title track featuring vocalist "Amba Shepherd", and an original mix, "Slapdash". The opening track, "Gold", builds in epic fashion to Shepherd's soothing vocals, until the track's sudden jackhammer-like drop, showing that Dem Slackers have not reverted from their signature electro-house sound. "Slapdash" presents a rave-like synth progression that switches to a bouncing progressive-house drop. Although the sample of the track is short, it shows that Dem Slackers have a range of varying sounds in their arsenals, all of which pack the energy to move club and festival crowds. This release is one we're anxiously waiting for, and certainly one not to be missed. Dem Slackers' "Gold" EP drops October 12th on Beatport.
