CRNKN puts a new spin on “New Scene”

In the span of one year, 20-year-old CRNKN went from being a broke college dropout to becoming an EDM Rookie Of The Year candidate. Not content with sitting back and basking in his newfound success, the LA-based trap producer has just dropped his new remix for Felix Cartal’s “New Scene (ft. Ofelia)” (Dim Mak Records). CRNKN takes the original’s slow jam feel and pumps up the bass to counteract the pretty piano and synth melody. Give him credit for not just crafting a catchy remix, but for also tinkering with his sound. Expanding on his musical stylings to include more electro-house elements (without abandoning altogether the genre that has brought him notoriety), CRNKN shows versatility in his songwriting capabilities far beyond his years and experience. It’ll be exciting to see what new tricks CRNKN will bring to the scene when he graduates from rookie to veteran status.
