To say that Brodinski has talented artists signed on to his Bromance imprint would be a very serious understatement. After a bombastic all-night label showcase this Memorial Day Weekend at New York’s Webster Hall, the label’s incredible ability to discover, develop, and promote raw production talent from across the world is on it’s way to being cemented as an indisputable fact of electronic with its latest release, Bromance #10. The release features two amazing young talents, 21-year-old Kaytranada and 16-year-old Suicideyear. As if their young age alone doesn’t already make you wonder what you’re doing with your life, the quick previews make it clear that each artist has talent to take their careers much farther than their age may imply. Kaytranada, from the electronic hot spot of Montreal, provides us with “Free Things in Life." The track sends us high up into sky to join the twilight of stars with its wonderfully orchestrated instrumentals. Kaytranada’s heavy hip-hop influence becomes clearly evident after the first drop, a testament to the young producer’s already lengthy list of bootleg remixes for artists like Janet Jackson, Missy Elliot, and Danny Brown. Suicideyear’s “Finale” gives us a “X-Files”-theme-song-meets-trap production. The track’s subtle eeriness somehow works as it keeps us captivated, wondering what’ll come next. Suddenly some quick drums join in, opening the floor for a simple yet complex build up that ends before we can hear more. Luckily for us, we won’t have to wait too long to hear what’s next. The full release of Bromance #10 is June 3rd, and with support from the likes of Diplo, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, and Riton, it’s sure to be blow up on the blogosphere. Until then, check out the previews yourself below!
